Greetings, in 2021 there was a question about the possibility of decent sampler becoming open source software. Back then, it was mentioned that licensing for commercial software was being explored and thus it wouldn't make sense to open source at the time.

Now 3 years later I'd like to ask for an update on the current thoughs of open sourcing decent sampler. Is there a clear no by now? Is it still unclear? Or is it possibly something actually planned now?

Thanks in advance

This is something I'm very interested in, I recently decided to migrate away from Kontakt to a more sustainable platform - either SFZ or DS. I picked DS as I figured that even though the software itself isn't OSS, the file format is open so something like Linux Sampler could be easily extended to support DS files.

Unfortunately, the money that Decent Samples product makes (both samples and as a licensed engine) is part of what I'm living on, and making it open source would completely destroy any hope of Decent Samples making any money at all. (Also, I have noticed the folks who maintain open source projects on the whole tend to be an unhappy lot.)
