iPad: Clicking "Load" crashes the app

Question

Decent Sampler 1.0.2 (Standalone) crashes when clicking File-Load.  I can load the Basic Piano library if I click Browse-My Libraries, select Default and click Load.

Yes, every time.  iOS 9.3.5, iPad 3rd Gen (FC707LL/A).  I know it's old, but I really only use this iPad specifically for music, including Set List Maker and Lemur.  I am really hoping to get DecentSampler to work, it looks like the perfect feature set to fill a gap in my live gear, and then maybe expand its use with my recording gear integrated with Reaper.

I updated to 1.0.10 and still have this issue.  However, looking at the situation more closely, I'm not sure it is a crash.  I'm navigated back to the iOS home screen, but Decent Sampler is running, looks all black until I select it.  But the end result is the same, I cannot load a sample library of my own.  I hope that makes sense.

I will see if I can find an older iPad to test with. The oldest device I have is an iPhone 5, and it definitely works on that. I will keep you posted...
